Overview

Part of Six By The Sea, Margaret’s was once a long-standing family home in the heart of Peggy’s Cove, now repurposed into a cozy cafe offering a true taste of East Coast hospitality to daily visitors with a menu of Maritime favourites created by Head Chef Dave McLachlan.

Context

As part of the Six By The Sea family of brands, it was imperative that Margaret’s Cafe had it’s own distinct identity while maintaining a visual language consistent with the other brands under the umbrella. With a team of people who have deep roots in small town Maritime culture, we knew we wanted the Margaret’s brand to be evocative of the tiny rural tearooms found throughout places like Cape Breton and Annapolis County. Blue Willow China plateware is commonplace in these establishments, and formed the bedrock of the brand’s welcoming and nostalgic aesthetic.

Our team developed an easy-to-use website that offers a menu, events page and background on the local area and family history behind the Margaret’s building, as well as offering customers the opportunity to purchase Margaret’s mementos and cafe product.

In advance of Margaret’s summer 2025 grand opening, we also developed food packaging, signage and event marketing materials, working with local media and hospitality partners such as Ambassatours to promote local tourism in the Peggy’s Cove area.
